Actually, nope, it's a road trip. Soon, I'm going on vacation! The plan is to go to Hershey and Gettysburg.
My husband hates going on vacation LOL. He didn't do it that much as a kid and has no frame of reference. Hopefully, he'll have some fun on this one. We've had some trip nightmares from the sunburns to the sick kids to the hotel losing our reservation. Maybe that's why he hates to travel?
Me, we went on a vacation every summer. It was usually the highlight. I was a major geek who lived in the boondocks so summers weren't all that fun. But oh, how I looked forward to vacation.
We went quite a few times with my grandparents. My grandfather used to poke me to look at scenery instead of reading my book. Probably what I'll have to do with oldest as we drive North.
But my favorite memories of vacation are the ones where my dad went. He didn't take off often from work to do anything so it was special when he traveled with us. Some of my best vacation memories are the ones where he went. Once we went to Niagara Falls. LOL he drank $5 worth of iced tea because they kept coming over to refill it and he didn't realize they were charging him. On the way home that trip, we stopped at Hershey.
So yeah, looking forward to this trip with my little family to a place that I have fond memories visiting with my parents.

Have a great vacation! I remember going to Hershey as a kid, too. And oddly enough that was a side trip on the way back from Niagara Falls for us, as well!
Oh that's funny! We did have a great trip even with some rain and storms.
